Any chance I get to get back to Florida I'm all over it! Due to cheap flights, a free condo to stay at on the Beach in Clearwater, access to a boat and a ton of water to choose from....I'm There. A few times a year I get back down South to chase some Redfish, Snook, False albacore, Jacks, or if I'm lucky, Tarpon! ![]()

Winter Fly Fishing Tips!
Winter 2010
What Is It About Winter That Calls You Back To The Water?
Is it the Lack of crowds? Is it the masses headed to the Hills to ski or maybe you just need to get out because, well you like to fish?
Winter Fly Fishing in the Rockies can be an experience all to itself if you need a day out on the water. Winter fly-fishing in Colorado is much different from Fall and Spring fishing, the people are gone, the scenery is awesome, and the pace is relaxing. Due the winter weather it can change minute to minute so be mindful of your area and always be prepared for that nasty storm at any time.

Colorado River and Dream Stream Recent Fishing
Fall 2009

Colorado River Dream Stream
After having my 1st weekend off from fishing in 2 months, I was going through withdrawals and had to get back out on some quality water again fast. Where did we go you ask? Well why not the Rado! I lived in this area some 12 years ago and each opportunity to get back there is met with a gracious attitude by any person that tags along with me for some hot fishing. I won't say when we hit it but it was within the last month or so and hasn't disappointed.
Dream Stream fishing can be good, or in 90% of the cases this past year, very crowded and windy. Either way, there are always a fair amount of nice fish to go after if you know where to look, where to hide from the masses and the right flies to use. Do your homework and expect to do some walking in order to catch some nice fish in this neck of the woods.

Black Canyon of The Gunnison and Taylor River Trips!
Fall 2009

It's hard to beat spending time in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison and Taylor River area in the Fall. Outside of the San Juan Mtns this by far is my favorite Colorado fishing destination when the leaves start falling.
Very few crowds in the Canyon fishing, remoteness, incredible weather and 30 fish days if you're lucky! The Hawg Trough on the Taylor has the biggest fish around and this time of year, bring some good Polorized glasses, you're going to need em! Great time on the Taylor as well fishing at night, sightfishing for beast during the day and perfect weather...what more could you want?

Alaska Fall Fishing Kenai Style!
Fall 2009

It's Fall in Alaska, which can only mean one thing to me, Big Fat Rainbows! Fall is usually thought of as Big Brown time but up here in Alaska big Rainbows, Silvers and Dolly varden's all reign supreme.
It was time again for me to head back to Alaska in the Chugash Mtn range and have my Pal Colin and Drifter show me where the fish were at and they absolutely did not disappoint. Another trip to remember for sure and besides incredible fishing we had immaculate weather, spectacular scenery and good friends to hang out with for a fun week of fishing!

Denver Fly Fishing Retail Show and Video Awards
Fall 2009
No more than just a few hours after getting back from an exciting Alaska trip did I get voicemails "Hey I hope Alaska was good to you, interested in hitting up the Fly Fishing Show events this week?"
You know where my priority is after a week in Alaska I get back and thrown into the Fly Fishing retail mix for a few days. Can't complain and after getting another invite for attending the Fly Fishing Video awards I was all over it. Could you really pass up free drinks, free food, chatting it up with some important players in the industry and a chance to work on a few more free trips if possible, oh yeah!
